Designer Destination: hotel SP34 In Copenhagen, Denmark

If there’s one city that’s guaranteed to deliver on the elegant boutique hotel front, it’s Copenhagen — and this 118-room spot in the city’s old Latin Quarter is the best example. With interiors by Danish designer and architect Morten Hedegaard, hotel SP34’s aesthetic is welcoming but understated, with a mostly neutral palette, minimalist furnishings and a nod to Mid-Century modern design influences. Huge windows flood one of hotel SP34’s “Dobblet Superior” rooms (the fanciest of their double-occupancy options) with light — and uses views to the pretty architecture outside. floor to ceiling drapery calls attention to the high ceilings, but also serves a functional purpose, blocking out light for undisturbed lie-ins.

A roomy suite features multiple zones and chic, Scandi-inspired seating. Molded wood furniture visually references Mid-Century designs, while a tone-on-tone grey palette feels both relaxing and modern.
