Dream-Worthy D.C. Townhouse

I when checked out an article that advised homeowners to invest in designer shoes. When they offered their home, the disagreement went, they’d recoup the investment as purchasers drooled over the wardrobe of Louboutins as well as upped their offers accordingly. I believed it was a silly concept — who buys a home based on a wardrobe of somebody else’s shoes? — up until I saw this D.C. townhouse as well as wished to buy not only the house, however the way of life I picture goes with it.

In my fantasy, I’d return from my high-powered-but-meaningful political task as well as enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine on that pink pouf in the living space while listening to tasteful classic or jazz. (Never mind that I usually can’t stand jazz or politics.) paired with blush walls, the dirty increased upholstery on the dining space chairs is feminine however not as well girly — just like my fantasy personal fashion concept.

Next, I’d phone call on the double ovens to simultaneously handle dinner as well as dessert, perhaps while dishing out hors d’oeuvres as well as bons mots to a few buddies over the island.

Or we might have mixed drinks in this sitting space that available to the back of the house. I’d have coffee at that corner table every morning, of course, as well as congratulate myself on having been strong sufficient to go for an orange colour scheme. (Though credit history is definitely due instead to designer Barry Dixon, who undertook an extensive renovation of the home in 2009.)

I’d choose some light bedtime reading from my collection of obscure novelists’ very first editions before drifting off in the glamorous-yet-restful bedroom. If I couldn’t autumn asleep in this one, there’s always the other five bedrooms (including the one in the completely equipped apartment over the garage).

The enclosed terrace at the back of the home would be the perfect location to trip out D.C.’s swampy summers. I assumption they’re an unavoidable part of the city, even in my dreams.

What homes (or lifestyles) do you dream of stepping into?
