Classic Chevron Rugs

Chevrons have been peaking in popularity lately, and mass retailers have taken note. along with the Greek key, the chevron is popping up everywhere in design, mixed with every style. It’s wonderful because it adds a graphic, geometric quality to a space. but instead of being groovy and retro, chevrons have a cachet of history and class.

Here I offer you, my budget-savvy friends, two options:

The first option, from style maven Madeline Weinrib in NYC. Her designs are all the rage in every design mag out there. (Tibetan Black & White Zig Zag rug, 6’ x 9’ to 9’ x 12’, $7,778 to $15,554 through Y&Co. Carpet & Textile.)

The second option is from our pals at West Elm, new to the Canadian retail landscape. (Zigzag rug, 2’ x 3’ to 8’ x 10’, $39-$459.) The scale of this wool/cotton budget rug is larger than Madeline’s, but no less stylish. West Elm is discontinuing this pattern, so check with your nearest location for stock.

Whichever one you choose, these chevron patterned carpets will add style and substance to even the most ho-hum space. Their graphic lines will add much-needed zing — and one won’t zap your bank account.
